Salvation

Salvation is the work of the Godhead.  The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are all at work in this process.  When “He” is referred to in the headings below, we will trust the Holy Spirit to make the truth clear.

The Good News                My Testimony

He alone has the ability to save
Titus 3:4-6 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.

He is the only way to be saved
John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
1John 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

He can save anyone in the world
John 4:42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
1John 2:2  And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

He came to earth for this very purpose
Luke 19:10 “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

He paid the full price for salvation
Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

He secured the way of salvation before we were worthy
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).”

His salvation once received is eternal
John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

His salvation is a free gift
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

He saves completely
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Four Truths You Must Know to be Saved

  • You are are sinner

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

  • As a sinner you owe a sin debt

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death …

  • Jesus died on the cross to pay your sin debt

Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  • You must confess the Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 10:9-10, 13  If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
