I believe God never gives up on individuals in our day of grace, but nations may be on a path of destruction as a consequence of disobedience to God. I would like to embrace America on the brink of a spiritual awakening, but the signs of socialism and the historical downfall of nations are currently very evident.
Other great nations have fallen as they make decisions on sanctity of home and life, higher taxes and redistribution of wealth among the citizenship, a “pleasure at any cost” attitude, the decay of individual responsibility and accountability and then a decline of religion. So, America appears to be on a dangerous path. Personally, I still have the hope eternal of a remnant since God always provides. I will pray and keep looking up. Angela

Future for America: Post #4
I don’t believe God has given up on America. I do believe that the “remnant” is going to be tested and still has the obligation to share the gospel. I hope there will be a reawakening of believers to stand firm and be involved in government affairs. I think the church has come to the point that more needs to be shared from the pulpit about the political atmosphere and how to fight it during and after the coming election. My personal obligation is to be more of a prayer warrior and more vocal about my convictions. Brenda

The Future for America: Post #3
I believe as Christians we should stand our ground no matter what. I do not believe America has reach the point of no return but I do believe as things stand right now the Lord will not continue to bless us either. The Lord, being who He is, can’t continue blessing our country with the disobedience as a country we are showing.
I believe it is time for all Christians to stand our ground in a loving way and somehow bring back the morals and values our forefathers meant for this country to have. We as a country need to take a history lesson on what our forefathers meant when they wrote the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. It is time for Christians to lovingly but firmly take back our country and put God back in the center. Sheri

What Are The People Are Saying: Post #2
Today I continue to post some of the comments people are making relating to the survey “What is the future for America?” To take part in the survey scroll down this page and you will see the form. Email me if you need the content background for the survey. The deadline for entries is July 15. Here is post #2.
I do think America is a different nation from this point forward. Rare is the nation that returns to the Lord without first being wiped out and restored like Israel.
I believe politically we have reached the point of no return. It’s only a matter of time (within years) that “under God” and “In God We Trust” are removed from U.S. government materials.
I don’t believe God has given up on America’s people (personally) but I do believe we are out from under His protection at this point from our national thumbing our noses at Him. I believe He has given up on America’s government (politically) but will continue to bless our nation in powerful ways – but only as a sign of His grace.
I do believe the church will continue to be refined and the pretenders and social churchgoers will fall away. A smaller, more committed church could well lead to the next great spiritual awakening, and I believe after a season of despair, the world will be reintroduced to Jesus without the historical baggage of the social church masking its view of Him. What People Are Saying About “The Future of America”
Today and for the next several days, I will be posting some of the comments people have shared as a part of the current survey concerning the future of America. For those who have not taken the survey, it can be found below. Here is our first quote:
“Many things are changing in America and unfortunately it appears to not be for the better. The majority of believers, in my opinion have remained distracted by the world and remained silent or taken an approach of hate toward the sinners, and not the sin. I do not believe America can continue on as a great nation while shaking her fist at a Holy God. God did not give up on Israel but did allow her/His people to suffer until they cried out to Him and turned. Most believers cry out to Him until things get a bit better, i.e. 9-11. We saw people returning to His house. We saw our leaders praying. What did we as a church do? We failed to disciple those that were returning. However, I still cling to the hope and promise of His patience and long-suffering. Vicky
What Is The Future For America?
On Friday, June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court of the United States of America handed down a landmark decision that, unless reversed, will forever alter the landscape of America in one way or another. The question “What is the future for America?” is a research question giving you the opportunity to share your thoughts.
To respond and take part in this research project, you see five statements below. I am requesting your response to each statement. You also have the opportunity to submit a comment or two about your responses. This comment portion is totally optional.[vfb id=12]
The Deadline and Details About the Background Behind the Survey
As Christians and God fearing people …
- We have every reason to believe and remain committed to the truth that God will continue being God; He has not relinquished His throne.
- We have every reason to believe and remain committed to the truth He will continue His work of calling people to salvation; He is a missionary God.
- We have every reason to believe and remain committed to the truth He will continue to care for us as individual believers; He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us and He has stated in His Word that nothing is able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
However, my question is this: As we take an objective look, a historical look, and a biblical look at how He has acted before in dealing with Israel and other nations, in your opinion, “What is the future for America as a nation.
You are requested to respond to all five statements from your own perspective. As you respond, choose the response that more closely reflects your belief. If you share any comments you might be tempted to copy and paste quotes from others. What I am really seeking is your thoughtful comments. I look forward to hearing from you.
The deadline for submitting a response is July 15, 2015. As I hear back from you, I will formulate your responses and the responses from others into a report. I will also give you periodic updates as to how the project is going.
Thanks in advance for your involvement in this project. I pray God’s best for you, your family, your friends, and The United States of America.

Who Decided Your Color, Race, etc?
From God’s perspective we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” From His perspective the truth is there are ten “unchangeables” in each of our lives. When we reject or try to alter any of these we are rejecting God and His design. Here they are:
- Our Parents
- Our Time In History
- Our Racial Background
- Our National Heritage
- Our Gender
- Our Birth Order
- Our Brothers and Sisters
- Our Physical Features
- Our Mental Abilities
- Our Aging and Departure
Let’s interact with the culture and those around us in light of this truth. Imagine how different our interactions would be if we all treated each other with the knowledge of this truth.

Parents & Grandparents Must Be Vigilant at All Times: Part 2
After the incident of the little boy grabbed at the Target store, we had a Savage Family meeting. We had several of these as Greg grew. I cannot remember how many and they were not held on a regular basis; just when necessity required.
As a preface to this, I need to share – we taught Greg two principles that require mentioning here. We taught him to use his inside voice inside and to respect other people’s property. This second lesson included – when you are in a store if you pick up something and then drop it and break it, we have to pay for it. So, just don’t touch it and there will not be a problem. Now, back to the meeting.
I told Greg something almost exactly to these words. “Greg, based on the situation that happened recently at the Target store, we have some new information to give you. If anyone ever tries to grab you or take you, you have our permission to yell, scream, or shout to the top of your lungs, regardless of where you are. You have our permission to kick, break anything around you, and do anything you can to bring as much attention to yourself as possible.” We discussed what we meant by all this and I made sure he understood the context of why we gave him these amended instructions.
The truth is, children need to be empowered. Pedophiles and wicked people will use fear, intimidation, and their size to overpower and take advantage of children. Unless we tell children, unless we empower them, children will not know what is appropriate. If someone grabs your child, grandchild, or a child you are caring for, those first few seconds are precious and cannot be reclaimed. The child must be empowered to act quickly and they will if you tell them what to do.
In the Target store situation, I shared earlier, the wisdom of the mother and the courage and quick thinking of the manager were huge in that little boy being found relatively unharmed. Adding to that, children need instructions as to what to do if some wicked person seeks to take them. We must not assume they will know what to do in that split second decision time.
I am glad to report Greg never had to use the plan. I hope your child is never in a situation of being a potential victim. Let’s empower our children to be wise to the culture in which we live so they can remain safe and be all they can be for the glory of God. Have a great summer.
Parents & Grandparents Must Be Vigilant at All Times: Part 1
Everyday, it seems, a news release is posted stating another child was abducted, or one is declared missing, or a new pedophile is exposed. Parents, grandparents, and all caretakers of children we must be on guard at all times. As Christians, our Lord called us to “love our neighbor” but sadly, we cannot always trust “our neighbor.” Allow me to share a very personal story.
When our son Greg was quite young, we lived in Fort Worth, Texas. In the Target store where we shopped on a regular basis a little boy became “missing” in that store. One minute he was with his mother the next minute he was out of sight.
Frantic, as you can image, the mother notified the manager’s office. She was very wise. The manager had the courage and the wherewithal to “lock down” the store. No one could enter and no one could leave until the little boy was found. They searched everywhere.
When they searched the women’s restroom, there he was. Two women had him. They had already changed his hair color and put a dress on him. They were prepared to walk him out the front door as a little girl never to be seen again. The God-given wisdom of the mother and the courage of that manager resulted in the rescue of that little boy who was taken.
If you can handle it, you need to watch the movie Taken or something in that genre. This is a cruel world in which we live and it is getting more dangerous all the time. Parents, grandparents, and caretakers of children we must be on guard at all times. Remember the truth and the principle found in I Peter 5:8. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
In Part 2, l tell about a family meeting that took place in our home as a result of this potential abduction at the Target store in Fort Worth, Texas.
